Faculty Fellows

The Center for Teaching and Advising Faculty Fellows are faculty members who support and promote excellence in teaching and advising on campus by leading, evaluating, and improving one of the main CTA program areas.

Each faculty fellow:

• Works with the CTA Director to oversee one of the main programs offered by the Center, including the New Faculty Learning Community and the Advising Academy.
• Is a member of the CTA Advisory Committee, which advises the director on policies, programming, and strategic planning.
• Serves for a term of three years, renewable for up to another three years. Fellows receive three semester credits of reassigned time from teaching and a stipend of $500 per year.
• Attends a national faculty development conference each year; travel and registration expenses will be covered by the CTA.

The faculty fellows program is also intended to promote knowledge, skills, and confidence in leading campus initiatives. In addition to attending the national conference, fellows will meet regularly as a group to discuss challenges and successes, provide mutual mentoring, and support a scholarly and reflective approach to program development and improvement. As their experience grows, fellows are expected to participate in presentations sharing and disseminating their work at national conferences and potentially through peer-reviewed publications.
